Stay tuned! we will post a vendor survey on the blog in November. Until then follow us on the blog, Facebook, or Twitter.

      thanks!

  3. What is the deadline for applying to be a vendor Dec 11th?
Would handmade hats selling for $25 be appropriate?

    • DenverHandmadeHomemade

Hi Nikki, There is no specific deadline, vendors are mostly first come first serve and we have a lot of vendors already signed up but we do still have some space for crafts. Go ahead and send in a vendor survey and well get back to you soon. Thanks!

On the poster for the holiday market it says to enter either bring something you value to share or $5 donation. Can you elaborate more on this? Are you only able to get into the market by donating something of value or a $5 donation? I would like to come and look at what is offered for sale and possibly buy things. Thanks!

    • DenverHandmadeHomemade

Hi! Thanks for your interest in the market. I hope that you do come to the market to look around and see what is there.

In answer to your questions, one of the important things that the Handmade Homemade Market does is encourage the idea that we are all producers as well as consumers. We believe that we all have a skill to share and we believe that the more we as individuals embrace our ability to produce the things that we need and share them with each other locally, the more resilient and self-reliant our community here in Denver will be. The idea behind the entry “fee” is to encourage people to take a moment before coming to the market to think about what it is that they have to offer the community, what they have of value that they can share with others. We leave it totally open so that people can be creative with it and we hope that it allows people to realize just how much they have to offer their community. And a perk of bringing something is that all the entry “fees” are placed on a community table. Anyone coming to the market is then allowed to take one thing off the community to bring home, free of charge. That way, even without any monetary cash, someone coming to the market is still able to participate and go home with something new.

For those people that don’t have the time or don’t want to bring something of value, we ask for a suggested donation of $5 because the reality is that it takes money and a LOT of time to put the market on. We think that the market is an event that is worthwhile and should continue and the suggested donation entry fee is one small way of helping to cover our costs so that we can continue doing it.

That being said, we also always advertise that no one will be turned away at the door. If you cannot bring something of value to share and don’t have $5 to offer in support of the market, we STILL want you to come and participate and we’ll be glad to have you join us.
I hope that helps. If you have any other questions, let us know and hopefully we’ll see you on the 11th.

      Thanks!

Hi there, is the upcoming four-part business series useful for a crafty business? (I notice there is a lot about homemade foods, although I’m open to that, too :)) Thanks.
