We want to first thank everyone who has been coming out to the Handmade Homemade Market, especially those of you who we have seen several times! We’ve said this before but we really cannot do any of this without a supportive community ready to dive into this new type of market place we are working on. So, thank you!
The last market was an awesome thing to see and felt like it created an incredibly positive environment for a market! There were a good number of people passing through, keeping it lively, with a really great crew of vendors sharing their goods with everyone. For us it felt like the first time that we could take a step back and really appreciate all of the people who have come together to make the market real. I had awesome conversations and traded my ice cream with so many good people – Anne with the delicious apricot jam, Danny with his goat cheese, Jared with his mycilium logs, Jon and Candice from Urbiculture Farms and Debbie from Farm Yard CSA. I also tasted some delicious canned goods from the Front Range Handmaids and got a hand woven rug from Ms. Weaver! There was local Colorado flour from Colorado Easy Eats, organic Chai from The Idle Goat, and screen printed shirts from Ole.
I loved it, and most of it happened without having to use any money, such an incredible feeling!
Thanks for being there and get ready for our next market on the First Friday in October – October 1st – from 6 to 9pm at Green Spaces!
We are also hosting an alternative currency workshop in conjunction with the Mile High Business Alliance on Saturday, Sept. 18th from 9am to 2pm with a potluck lunch at the CHUN House – 1290 Williams St. Arthur Brock will be schooling us in a hands-on workshop about creating alternative currencies in our own communities!
Thanks again, we’ll see you soon!
